Some Easter and just fun Cupcakes

These are some of the left over cupecakes that I couldn;t use for the Archaeology test unit design. They were too rounded on top, but they still were decorated and made cute!! Happy Easter everyone!

These were modeled after Shamus, and there are three of these!

Edible Archaeology!!

Ok so this has to be the project that is closest to my heart! This was a last minute project to help Middle Tennessee Anthropological Society get some notice in the community and help raise money for a good cause. The United Way of Murfreesboro will be holding a cupcake challenge, and you bring 3 dozen of them decorated and who ever sells the most of the 3 dozen wins.  I have also heard there will be "celebrity judges" from GeGe's and Julia's. But any way if you want to show your support you can go here for more details!

So without further ado, I present MTAS cupcake entries!

Greg's Birthday Cake

This is from my brother's birthday, he just turned twenty. Greg actually just left to go to school in Pennsylvania at Wyotech. Was looking through some stuff and found these!

This is all done with fondant, and I don't remember what kind of cake it was, sorry!

I also did a cake cake for my uncle, I am trying to find any pictures I have of that!

Past Cakes

I have been asking my friends and family to give me any pictures that they have of cakes out there, and still have not received any!! But have no fear, I have found some of my first cakes and will be posting more of them as I find them!

This first one was made for my mother's Birthday! I think this is my second buttercream cake, it was a spice cake, and the most frustrating cake I think I ever did. I was just getting the hang of piping and battling the icing every step... (please excuse the refrigerator shot!)

This second cake is one that I made for my cousin Lisa's baby shower, and it was my first buttercream cake, I thing I was a little unsure of what to do but in the end it worked out. I made three cakes, one larger and two smaller ones. The little baskets are my favorite!

I will keep looking for more pictures. I think it is fun to look at this and see just how far my cake skills have come!

Birthdays in one day!

These are two birthday cakes I just got done with for this week. Both are chocolate liqueur with french vanilla buttercream icing.

Chapman Wedding

This was my first big wedding cake and one of the only cakes I have done that has see a mass audience other then my family. I got to sit down with the bride, Kelsey, and groom, Justin (also my cousin), and hash out the cake design wedding colors and flavors.

This was it! The bottom tier was a classic white almond, the second tier was a chocolate fudge with chocolate liqueur, and the top tier was a french vanilla pound cake. All with butter cream icing and fondant. It turned out beautiful!

The Groom's Cake was also done in a chocolate fudge with cream cheese icing, the grooms favorite! We decided to go with some dark bold colors for this cake and put one of the couples favorite says on the top "Love Conquers All" and then finished it off with Love in a total of fifteen different languages!

This next cake is the first Groom's cake I did. The bride and I both agreed that it was too feminine, but not before I snapped a few pictures of it. This cake later became the one pictures above. But I figured I would share it with you none the less.

I hope you enjoy these! I have also decided that a camera upgrade may be in order so that these pictures come out looking better! Until next time...
